So-So
Elektrified
Elektra

Overall:
After recovering from wounds sustained in 2003's Daredevil, Elektra (Jennifer Garner) has become a woman with many demons in her past. In an effort to exorcise them, she becomes an assassin-for-hire and has become a legend in her own right.
When a new, very lucrative job comes up, she discovers that she's human, after all, when she finds out that she has inadvertently befriended her marks. When otherworldly assassins come to finish the job she bailed out of, Elektra find herself saving the targets and becoming another unwilling player in a struggle between good and evil that has been raging for a very long time.
Likes:
The action scenes were great. They were beautifully shot and the choreography was brilliantly executed, despite being reminiscent of other action sequences, such as those from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, or the Matrix.
Dislikes:
*yawn!*
The movie housed a tired plot that was underdeveloped and not fully written out. The potential for this movie was evident, but honestly, more could have been squeezed out of it if the writers had only tried. It seems that mystical abstraction was what they were going for, but they failed, big time. There wasn't enough information for the abstraction to be cohesive enough to work, and it ended up straddling the line between that and your average comic-action-hero movie.
In Closing:
If you feel the need to see this movie, by all means do so. Personally, I'd wait for the Movie Network to show it, just to avoid having to pay for it.
Jennifer Garner did the best she could with the material they gave her. I only hope that the next action role she takes on is more skilfully written, so she can prove that she does have what it takes to be a kick-ass female role model for young adults.
